(due Wednesday 2/7)
wkbk: pp. 147 – 149 #1 (all)
Note: you can access a recording of the Brahms online using the Naxos Music Library subscription through the BSU Library. Go to http://www.bsu.edu/libraries/electronicresources/databases.asp?letter=N&subject=>, and click on the Naxos Music Library Link. Search for “Brahms Symphony No. 2″. Your selection(s) stream through the Windows Media Player at “near CD” quality. It’s pretty good, but the Windows Player doesn’t show elapsed time.
Big caveat: On the mac, I’ve only gotten this to work with Explorer (not Firefox or Safari).
(past due)
P. 139 – 140
-#4 A (include one III and one VI chord; embellishing chords in parentheses)
-#5 A, analyze (embellishing chords in parentheses) and reduce. ASSUME FOR REDUCTION PURPOSES THAT THE FINAL TWO CHORDS ARE AN ESSENTIAL CADENTIAL PROGRESSION. THE ENTIRE FOUR MEASURES IS A SINGLE PHRASE.
pp. 127 – 130 in Workbook, #2 all, #4b.
For 4b, circle and label all non-chord tones. Carefully consider the first measure in light of the subject matter at hand.
