(sonicArts) reading: eno, oliveros, and intro to music tech

With your project due this Thursday (9/20), I’m not expecting any reading to be done before the following Tuesday (9/25).

From Audio Culture:

• Brian Eno, “Ambient Music” (AC, pp. 94 – 97)
• Pauline Oliveros, “Some Sound Observations” (AC, pp. 102 – 106)

From An Introduction to Music Technology:

• Chapter 4: Audio Hardware

  Chapter 4 includes a description of the digital recording chain. I left out the mic preamp from my chain, but Hosken’s chain leaves out a lot of mine. I’m really not as interested in microphones, but I am interested in signal levels and other topics covered in this chapter.
