We will be using Cecilia (version 4) for granular synthesis processing. You can download it for free for either Mac OS X or Windows at its project page on Google Code:

Cecilia is a graphical front end that uses Csound to process audio. Csound is a text-based language that is beyond what we want to deal with in this class.
I didn’t need to install Csound separately to run Cecilia on my Mac, but a student that installed Cecilia on his Windows laptop did need to install Csound separately. If you get error messages that Csound is missing, you can download the current (or requested) version of Csound from Sourceforge:
